What two years of intentional scrolling taught me about leadership, curiosity and life.

I’ve been on a health journey and 2026 is my year of health. Motivation has not always been easy to find.
So one day I typed a few things into TikTok â healthy food, simple recipes, nothing complicated. Bethany Frankel’s supermodel snacks popped up. I watched a few. Then a few more. And suddenly my feed understood exactly what I needed â simple, healthy, implementable. No fuss.
That was the moment I realised TikTok wasn’t the problem. My algorithm was.
Once I started training it deliberately, everything changed. And it wasn’t just food. It was leadership. AI. Culture. Life.
So here comes Week 1 of 10: The AI That Changed How I Work
I kept seeing it on TikTok. Everyone was moving to Claude. And specifically â Claude’s desktop app, Claude Cowork.
So I got curious.
At work I use the tools my organisation provides â like most large companies, we have a standard IT policy and I work within it. But on my personal laptop? That’s mine. So I downloaded Claude, set it up, and started doing exactly what the TikTok creators were doing â updating my website, managing my google inbox, experimenting with what it could actually do.
I got so inspired that I called my cousin. She runs two restaurants and an event venue and is overall super busy – so much that I took a shift with her in her restaurant so I could spend more time with her đ . I told her â you need this in your life.
We spent an evening together setting it up. Within ten minutes she was checking off tasks she had been putting off due to other things taking priority. Watching her get excited about something that she could check of her list â that felt really good and overall it was a super fun night. Teaching is in my DNA and there is nothing quite like learning a skill and immediately using it to help someone you love. So I want to encourage you if you are a small business owner and don’t have massive budget – try out Claude Cowork and see what AI can do for you!
That evening reminded me of something important. Don’t judge a tool like TikTok by its reputation. Ask instead â how can this work for me? How can this push me into trying something I might not have discovered otherwise?
And yes â I’m writing this series with Claude. Make of that what you will.
Next week: Reason 2 of 10.
